Abandoned Promises
A melancholy journey between desire and reality.

The end of the socialist era promised new hope to finally keep old promises: wealth, consumption and support or the purpose of life. Only the people of Eastern Europe are still waiting.
Nonetheless, yearning, hope and belief in happiness seem to outlast all changes. I search for the traces in an "untimeliness", a not-more and not-yet-ever, and find images of the unfulfilled promises.
They are testimonies between desire and reality, because dreariness always refers to the magic of these promises. In sober, distanced snapshots, a melancholy journey through a realm of abandoned hopes emerges.
